Bound MAG
I can’t wait
For ultra-violet rays to bounce off of my skin.
For the ocean salt to make its home in my skin,
And linger.
For my hair
to lighten
due to the pure heat of the day
I can’t wait for popsicles
to melt on wooden sticks
and to drip a melody
of sweet purples.
For days at home
where I will lounge in pajamas
and my mind is present.
For the day
that I will have white lines
on my feet
with credit given to shoes
with rubber straps
and sponge bottoms.
I can’t wait for the moment
when I can run
and feel the blazing asphalt
under my soles.
For the bell to ring,
and I am free.
