I walk through the halls on my way to class

I look down at my hands

embarrassed

Walking into class
he stops me
his dirty-blonde hair falls over his eye as he laughs  
asks me why my nails are painted

It shouldn’t matter
He continues to look at me
I continue to watch my feet with each step
embarrassed

I go on with my day
the laughs echo in my head
All day
wondering why I let her paint my nails.
