Dialogue Poem
“That girl is beautiful,” my Conscience once said.
“Are you kidding me?
Look at her hair!
She’s not even wearing makeup,
and her outfit is all weird.” Society fired back.
“Well I don’t think so…” my Conscience whispered.
“Do you like my new shirt?” my Conscience asked proudly.
“Oh you can’t dress like that.
You just want attention.
Men are going to stare,
you should cover your shoulders, and not show so much skin.” Society quickly responded.
“Okay, but I don’t see how that is fair.” my Conscience softly muttered.
“I’m proud of how I look and am proud of my body,” my Conscience said timidly.
“Are you sure?
Have you seen the models…?
You’re nose is all crooked,
and you definitely are not as skinny as they are.” Society snickered back.
“I guess that is true, you are probably right,” my Conscience stopped talking.
