Once and for all
Can’t you see her?
sitting on frail knees in the corner,
can’t you hear her cry?
she hides in the back of the classroom,
trying to obscure her pain,
but you can still see the tears
dripping down her cheeks,
like monsoon season in florida.
You walk past her in the hallway
but you never noticed
her enormous green eyes,
Bloodshot,
stuck in the past,
dreaming of the future.
she looks at you,
and in your mind you say,
isn’t it time to end this Once and for all?
