I am the Sun

I am the sun.
A warm welcome to the next day,
Or illuminating the moon for a good night's sleep.
Patiently waiting to climb over the horizon,
And to keep your day bright as can be.
Calmly resting above the clouds,
And more lively in summer than winter.
Further away from everyone than I seem,
But still as close as I’ll ever be.
Sick of the same routine day after day,
But I’ll never let it show.
