Ode to Math
Truer colors
Were never spoken than the somber
Monochromatic hues of grey and
Lily white against the pencil of
Your eyelashes
Those sharply traced angular lines
That jut against the triangle of
Your cheekbones
The density of our shared bed
Is more than our legs combined
And I love how yours intertwine with mine
Skin tones clashing and
Arms mashing together
Under a pale gradient of sickly yellow
Sunlight
Grant us these days and
The nights that follow
And all of the twilight moments
In between
Those fleeting dark blue nostalgic movie machines
With smears of lilac and flirtatious promises of after
Those are the moments I cherish most
The owl singing our names to the thin sky air
As we snuggle under blankets
That consume us wildly
