Cherries Pricked From a Snow Leaf
Red, plum-shaped cherry shines white as it glimpses the yellow light
As it floods into view, brimming across the heavy velvet curtains
And filling the dark room with light.
The multi-coloured green stork bends its arch to the left,
Jagged, imperfect, it leaps from its cherry bed
And flies outside the ajar window until it lands on a frozen snow leaf;
The mould shimmers from its ancient skin, and the water on the plant
Inspires it with life, the tiny icicles relieving it of its film.
