I'm falling,
Falling out of the dark,
Into the arms of the light,
I know they will catch me,
I know they will be there for me,
But will this be forever?

Will they flip me around and send me tumbling,
Back into the clutches of the dark,
Will I be unable to return,
Uncertainty overwhelms,
As I wonder what the next action will be,
And where it will take me.

As I fall into the light,
The shadows race after me,
In their futile attempts to catch me,
To draw me back,
Back to my own land of uncertainty,
Discomfort,
Distrust.

I feel warmth as the arms of light enclose around me,
The shadows retreat,
Knowing they've lost this battle,
But they will never give up,
I mustn't let my guard down,
For they will take the opportunity,
To snatch me away.
