Sunflowers
Before you left,
You gave me sunflowers.
They live on my windowsill
And paint the room yellow.
You've always believed
That I loved flowers
More than I could ever
Love a person.
But you never knew
That all I wanted was
To grow a garden with you
And watch it flourish.
You're gone now,
But the sunflowers still remain; wilting,
And I can't seem to throw them away
Because they are all I have left of you.
