Wisconsin Animals
The musky is the king of the lakes.
It’s the beast that lies within the dark.
It devours its prey.
The badger, represents our beloved sports team.
But in nature, remains calm,
but can turn vicious and attack its prey.
The dairy cow, spotted black and white,
towers over squirrels, chipmunks, and beavers.
With his head down, he stare at the grass grazed upon.
The robin sings a familiar song as the sun permeates the forest,
and gathers brittle sticks to create its abode. A worm squirms
in its beak, trying to avoid hunger, chirping, salivating.
The honey bee buzzes,
going flower to flower looking for nutritious nectar.
It only knows one life: the life of making honey.
The sugar maple stands tall, high above the
surrounding landscape. It provides sweet syrup,
while providing a home for wild species.
The mourning dove, sent from above,
hears cooing in the rising sun,
for those who have passed.
The white tailed deer prances.
It’s known for the white underside of its tail,
and at the signal of alarm, it pounces off.
Where are these animal’s found?
It’s a place up north,
called Wisconsin.
