Nature's Music MAG
The small boy sits down on a rock
in a roaring river.
Not afraid of the strong current, he listens.
He hears his parents calling for him,
but he keep listening.
The small boy hears the trees sway in harmony,
owls call for one another,
mice squeak in fear,
crickets chirp as the night arrives.
He no longer hears the voices of his parents
calling for him to clean his room.
For the first time he doesn’t hear the sound of chaos,
but nature’s music.
The boy wondered:
When will someone sit next to him on this rock, and listen too?

I was inspired to write this piece by my summer vacation to a National Park, where I gained my appreciation for nature. On my vacation I was able to relax, and really take my time to observe things in nature. This was a stress reliever for me, and I hope after reading this poem people will go outside more and have a greater appreciation for nature.
