Shining Hearts
The stars shine
like our hearts
floating in the sky
twinkling as often as our heart’s beat.
Memories of us haunt my dreams
reminders of the past
gives me a headache
hammering my skull until it cracks.
Breathing in the smoke
leaves that take me to the clouds
higher and higher I get
you don’t matter anymore.
I erase you from my mind
you disappear from life
you’re gone forever
and I honestly don’t care.
Now that you’re not here
my tears of blood cry out
down my wrist
into puddles of my hurt.
You swim in the ocean
these are my fears
I hope you drown to the bottom
suffocating with my love in mind.
I’m so glad you left
now I can soar
I’m gone too
my skull still cracked.
