What happened
to the promise of forever,
to 'til death do us part'?
What happened to your happily ever after,
the nights spent laughing, just being happy?
You told me it wasn't my fault.
You lied.
It affects me,
and everyone else.
You told me you both loved me,
and that you will always be there for me.
I laugh now-
haven't you seen my friends?
How they seem so sad seeing you two together?
That is how we will turn out too.
Weekends with one,
weekdays with the other,
if I am lucky.
Mom,
Dad,

I read it first as a dysfunctional family, and then I saw your author's note and read it again, and it really struck me. I totally feel you. It's really painful, but you'll get through it. :) Love the emotion.
My parents recently got a divorce, and it has been really hard to deal with. I never really understood how other kids with divorced parents felt, and now, I do. This is for the kids out there!
