Floor
Are we a floor?
No really tell me, is that what we are?
An ocean floor that sits there,
Holding onto what they see as important.
The fish swim on top of us,
Other’s hiding below our sand.
And,
Me, you, I, we must hold onto the anchors that fall on top of us.
The ones that
Whisk our sand away as it collapses on top of us.
That heavy anchor,
That anchor that we must hold.
Because what is our other use?
To help a boat to stay in place
We have to hold onto their anchor.

It's just a first draft, and I'm still trying to figure out how to explain my own message. But there's many meanings in many small parts. The floor would be us, and of course floors are used to be stepped on. The fish swimming above it is our appearance. The fish hiding under the sand would be what people think of us. The anchor would be what people expect us to do. And if we don't hold onto it the boat will float away, along with everyone else.
