I heard you came down to NC,
But you didn’t have the decency
To tell me.
It still hurts, you know?
When you’re here and then you go.
I thought I was family
Clearly you lost your humanity.
My stomach is in knots,
I wish you still wanted me.
Sometimes parents aren’t meant to be.
One day
I’ll be okay
And you’ll come back.
But my bags will be packed.
I’ll leave you behind
Along with my feelings that are benign.
