Ignored
She walks down the
halls of the school
she goes to everyday.
Paper balls fly her way,
but she doesn't look
toward it's home.
She sits in the same seat
every day and wonders the same
things.
She ignores the comments.
She ignores the lies.
She ignores the drama.
She ignores the hate.
She deals with the same places,
the same people.
Every day.
Every year.
She goes home and
you never wonder what
it is that awaits her
there.
The place she avoids
every day.
You never knew
her mother was a
drunk.
You never knew
her father was
abusive.
You never knew
she was alone.
It never crossed your mind
'til the day
she didn't come back.

Look out for the kids who don't look at anyone. Who never talks to people. The ones who hide behind a mask of fear and regret.
