Dancing Alone
My limbs sway around me
Fingers snapping in time to the music
Head pounding out the beat
Feet and legs flailing in all directions
For once in my life,
I have no care in the world
As I lose myself in the notes
Who could have known
That this tiny room
Packed with furniture,
Overflowing with books,
Covered with clothes and pillows,
Could seem like the freest place in the world
It is an escape from the everyday prison
It is the catharsis that nothing else can grant me
It is something that I share with no one else
My own little corner of Elysium
With no box beasts around to wreck it
