Yugen
Yugen is when you’re laying in bed late at night and you get that shiver down your spine.
You’re analyzing the constellations and the earth and the atmosphere and life itself.
You’re asking yourself, “Where did I come from?”
Where did we come from?
Where did the universe come from?
The adrenaline rush that question triggers is absolutely indescribable.
It’s when you’re strolling down that rocky path and reach an opening in the trees.
You look out through the branches and get splashed with the warmth of the sunset.
You see what has started out as seeds, and has now become bold structures.
Spiraling out from roots that have danced a hundred year tango
and are now left embracing each other deep in the soil.
Your lungs fill with the refreshment one gets when breathing in the earth that surrounds them.
Nature’s beauty has it’s gentle grasp around your soul.
Yugen is when you’re standing right at the edge,
And you’re ready to jump.
But all you can picture is your eyes,
How they swirl and blend with their colors,
Much like the clusters of stars and planets you find so beautiful.
Your eyes hold a universe, darling.
You hold a universe.
Can’t be put into words...
What about every word?
When you get that shiver down your spine,
it’s like you’re feeling everything all at once.
So, maybe “Yugen” is impossible to define,
But we have already built up the discovery of a description.
“Yugen”
Is best described, as being alive.
