Trapped & Broken
Sadness
It envelops me in a never ending chokehold
Over and over it hurts me
And it makes me hurt
Myself
My loved ones
Anybody who comes near me
So I close myself in, allowing no one entrance
It snaps bones and leaves bruises, but I’m too numb to feel it
I use all my strength left to fight, but I fail yet again
Darkness
It’s all around me
In everything I do, see, feel
But it doesn’t touch me quite yet
I’m in a bubble
All alone
No one to talk to, just me and my thoughts, slowly infecting me like a disease
Killing me from the inside out
The darkness gets closer as every second goes by
Threatening to pop it
I close my eyes, taking a deep breath
I count
1
2
3…
My eyes open
And it happens
The bubble that holds all of my goodness left pops
The rare feelings of the little happiness I once had start seeping out
Letting the darkness rush towards me at lightning speed
I scream for help, yet I am not heard
I cry, the tears burning as they trickle down my face
Emptiness fills me and all is silent, once again
As the darkness
Swallows me
For good
