Taken by Cancer
It comes unexpectedly
Affects anyone
Feeling of worry
A deadly disease
Illness that kills most people
all over the world
Chemotherapy
could possibly cure it
It is a chance
Tears fall onto clothes
Tissues laid on the counter
Many mournful cries
The angel of death
A sad morbid time for all
Took my grandfather
The dark dingy room
Lying there was his body
ice cold and lifeless
Nobody knew how soon
but it lasted over two years
Two years, too short
Highest Honor
a Korean war veteran
Twenty-one salute
Every day we pray
hoping to see him again
Never forgotten

I recently lost my grandfather to prostate cancer, so this piece is for him!
