I recommend you trying haiku. It's so much fun to write them. Don't limit yourself to just one genre. Thank you, dancer25.

Thank you. You know what, I didn't even notice the comparison of fire and water until now that you pointed it out. *facepalm* Thank you for doing so. and try writing them. They're so much fun.

I've never been a haiqu writer - maybe it's because I'm so long winded, but I do enjoy reading them. The word usage in this poem is particularly striking. I like the contrast between water and fire, and your use of mauve. I don't seem to hear/read that word often enough.

This haiku fells so fresh and whimsical, and with great imagery, this is definitely 5/5 stars from me. I especially like the last line.
