The Days After
It’s been four days now
I wake up and forget that
You are not with us
Six months later, I
Find reminders everywhere
Of how I miss you
After two whole years
It still hurts to admit that
You won’t come back home

I wrote this poem shortly after my grandpa passed away from cancer, and it talks about sometimes forgetting that someone won't be there anymore, whether you want to laugh with them or tell them something important. Hopefully people who have lost a loved one can relate to this poem and appreciate it.
