Good old Satchmo,

Is Jazz’s greatest hero.

He saw trees of green, red roses too,

Always thought about me and you.

He knew the world was a wonderful place,

And never let any problem knock him down to his face.

His personality was best,

But he was put to the test

Because being black was diverse,

So he had to reverse

The prejudice against him.

Inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame,

No one will ever forget his name.

He knew the world was wonderful,

And thought it was vibrant and colorful.

Jazz was his very favorite thing,

He was the ultimate blues king.

Born in Orleans,

And died in the Queens.

We all miss good old Armstrong

And for him we long

to play Jazz once again.
