The Complexities of Life
The Willow tree shines in the distance.
He questions his existence.
He walks up feeling dazzled.
His brain starts to feel frazzled.

Hi, I am Ethan. I am an American Jewish teenager. I wrote this poem to describe the situation with rising antisemitism in the United States and the world. In the poem, a boy is contemplating his future. He approaches a willow tree and forgets about his hardships. He begins to focuses on the beauty of the tree as he approaches it. In order for Jewish people to fight through antisemitism they have to show the beauty and light of the Jewish nation.
