Nightmare
Lights are out
You start to pout
Can’t stop shacking
They think you’re faking
Too scared to sleep
Heavy eyes sink into the deep
You are locked in a tower
By a witch with power
Servants help you escape
Witch is angry, see her cape
Can’t find the way
Just another delay
Stumble into her lair
Where she gave a poisoned pear
Take a look around
Don’t want to be found
See her spell book
You’re nothing but a crook
You take a peek
Wonder what you seek
Get cornered by her beast
To scold you at the least
See a door, you run
It chases you, this is no fun
Into the woods, trees so tall
Trees end, a cliff! You fall
Plunge into the lake so cold
Monsters below, you were told
Start to swim to shore
Don’t want to lure
Too late, it’s ready to attack
There’s nothing for it to lack
Scream yourself awake
You are no longer in a lake
You can’t stop the fear
Your eyes start to tear
So much confusion
It was just an illusion
