The Will to Fly
I sat in silence. . .
A lonesome dove
Crying for little more than
A fragment of love.
Darkness embraced
The world I lived in,
Consuming each breath
Of light from within.
Broke though, you did
Through the darkness and chains,
Freeing me so, from the
Sadness and pain.
Awakening my heart,
From its suppressing sleep.
Yearning to soar and
To feel complete.
Loved and valued;
Tears in my eyes.
God heard my prayer,
And answered my cries.
You gave me wings,
And the will to fly . . . .
