(I Am)
I am the fingers that wipe away tears
I am assurance that erases fears
I am a lamp to those in the dark
I am a comfort to those who are lost
I am rest after a long day of work
I am a bandage that eases your hurt
I am a word to those who can’t read
I am the food and the hungry I feed
I am the friend who understands all
I will be there when you trip down and fall
I am the person who will also weep
I am the hand that gets you to your feet
I am all that you want, I am more than that
That’s what they hate, it is I they attack
I am all I am, I am all that is me
But they are ruled by their jealousy
I am shaped by society
I am who you make me to be
