Saved You

Just the average human
Always wearing a smile
You were happy and cheerful
Well, at least for a while

You tell yourself your fine
But it's clear you're telling lies
It's plain as day to see
The pain behind your eyes

You stare into the mirror
And feel yourself disappear
The reflections twists and turns
Morphs into your biggest fear

You cannot stand this emptiness
And you know what must come next
As you put pen to paper
You cry as you scan the text

And now it's all over,
As you take your final breath
All alone but not scared
As you're greeted by death

You won't be the first
And you won't be the last
To end their long term suffering
Haunted and lost in their past

But you were not alone
Locked up on the inside
If you'd spoken they'd have known
And saved you from suicide

This has been bubbling in my mind for a while, ever since I lost a friend to suicide. Teen Suicide is on the rise, so I wanted to show people that if we talk and share how we are feeling, it could Save You
