Freedom
I’m so out and queer
There’s no doubt or fear
If you throw shame my way
You’ll look so lame and stray
Your whispering stings are so cruel
Talking to you is fighting a duel
My angels bleed in your ravishing rage
For they are all trapped inside your cage
You scream what is scripted cannot be wrong
You have made me endure this for too long
There’s nothing wrong with me, even if you want it to be
My chest can’t fathom anymore of your sin
Neither God nor devil knows where I’ve been
I will only find my true love
When angels resurrect me from above
And show what you’ve hated
Was always meant to be celebrated
I was born like this, so don’t cease my bliss
I’m so out and queer
There’s no doubt or fear
If you throw shame my way
You’ll look so lame and stray
Even though I beg for a new start
Your words still eclipse my heart
After fighting for my rights
Through those daunting nights
I am done living your life
That’s washed with blood and strife
Coz I am meant to stay this way
I know now that we can never talk
The way we used to walk
Those days of trust are gone
Leaving me with my little song
That’s a sacrifice to make
For the angels’ freedom’s sake
I only want to say- don’t shame what you can’t blame
I’m so out and queer
There’s no doubt or fear
If you throw shame my way
You’ll look so lame and stray

This is a lyrical tribute to courage. The courage that is needed to break out of a toxic world. The courage that makes you stand up for who you truly are.
