I am sorry for the evil I have done,
But don’t worry because I love what I’ve become.
Don’t cry tonight over things that I have said,
Just lay your head softly on your bed,
Close your eyes and drift off to a place
Where you’re happy and where your soul will be safe.
I’m not sorry for the person I’ve become.
You should be worried about what will soon be done.
Pieces fall apart—going one by one,
What on earth—what on earth have I done?
Wash away all the sins from my hands,
Cleanse my soul; let me start off new again.
I’ve seen what I never thought I could,
And now that I have I wish I never would.
Forgive me, but there is no turning back;
This feeling, for me, is so abstract.
I want to take it back, take it away from myself;
To free myself, I want nothing else.
I am sorry for the evil I have done,
But don’t worry because I love what I’ve become.
Don’t cry tonight, I’m here with you;
I whisper in your ear what you should do.
Close your eyes and drift off to a place
Where you’re happy and where your soul will be safe.
