The Real Cinderella
Do you remember Cinderella’s flight?
Do you remember the prince who stole her heart that night?
Yes, I do.
Yes, yes, I do.
It’s the girl who always trips me up.
Is she the same?
Will she never change?
Is she still in love?
Did she find someone to dream about?
Or does her heart flit like a dove?
Is she still with Prince Charming?
Or did she realize the truth?
The real Cinderella ain’t me.
The real Cinderella ain’t me.
Chiffon flying, golden hair,
Tossed about, I ran up the stairs.
Back to your loving embrace,
Your hands stuck around my waist,
Yes I changed,
I’m not the same.
I’m not still in love.
I used to have dreams about you,
But my heart flew away, like a dove.
You were my Prince Charming,
But I realized the truth.
The real Cinderella could have been me,
But as it seems,
The real Cinderella ain’t me.
I used to try so hard to be your dream girl.
Faithful until the day we fell apart.
But I stopped having time for that
I had to listen to
The dove flying in my heart.
But I didn’t change,
I’m still the same.
I might still be in love.
Now I’ve found someone to dream about,
But my heart is still a dove.
Will you be my Prince Charming?
Just accept the truth,
The real Cinderella was never me.
But since we’re meant to be,
The real Cinderella must be me.
