free in technicolor
i'd give you the sky.
fill the sea with paint
and dry your eyes.
take brushes to our monochrome lives.
days pass in no important order
monday tuesday wednesday all the same.
same old story
and the same old game
what have you got for me today?
mr. mailman, best be on your way.
just milky letters in their murky script.
and no real truth in all of this.
but if i could,
i'd give you the sky.
fill the sea with paint and dry your eyes.
take brushes to our monochrome lives.
when all we've got is nothing masked as something worth our while,
sometimes you gotta let go,
gotta know that we're miles
from where we started
sky and sea and little else
love's still here but it's on the shelf.
take it down and paint it rosy,
there's still time to chase away the gray.
take brushes to the brand new day.
and live our lives free and with each other
cause we're freer, oh love,
we're freer in technicolor.
