Sparkler in My Chest
A sparkler against my chest,
footsteps on my heart.
Look at the mess, how I'm unraveling,
it's just the start
of being undone, unwound, found.
I'm not ready,
no, not ready.
Why is it that loving you hurts?
Every thing you do takes hold,
and pulls apart everything I made.
And here I go, as I unfold,
I was not told what to behold,
but here I go as I let go of all control.
Weighted down by lead,
drifting higher than the clouds.
All my secrets unsaid, are leaking out,
you shouldn't be allowed
to break me apart, shatter this wall, then catch me as I fall.
I'm not ready,
no, not ready.
Why is it that loving you hurts?
Every thing you do takes hold,
and pulls apart everything I made.
And here I go, as I unfold,
I was not told what to behold,
but here I go as I let go of all control.
I am only flesh,
and to you I implore
to see less, and stop trying to find
what's shoved deep in the core
of who I am, who I've lost, the paths I've crossed.
I'm not ready,
no, not ready to be set free.
What are you doing?
Creating such mayhem,
this vision you're construing
is turning into my life.
A sparkler against my chest,
footsteps on my heart.
Look at the mess, how I'm unraveling,
it's just the start
of being undone, unwound, found.
Being with you is like having a sparkler in my chest,
your footsteps on my heart.
You're undoing me, unwinding me,
finding me.
