“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.” -Buddha

Where is the glue
My salvation
You
My heart has broken down
Shattered glass masks the ground

It's time to repair
Saying sorry
Tears
My already broken heart to shreds
Sometimes it'd be better dead

It's time to build up
Glue the shards back together
Cups of pain filled up
Realizing reality of never
Never will you care
Never will I matter
Explains why you weren't there
Why you've let me shatter
So repair, forget, forgive
Because when you're shattered
You cannot live

Why do they bother
Asking questions
Father
Here my sickening cries
And stop the world from asking why

They could not know
Ripping terror
Below
So please just go away
I won't be your "myself" for days

It's time to build up
Glue the shards back together
Cups of pain filled up
Realizing reality of never
Never will you care
Never will I matter
Explains why you weren't there
Why you've let me shatter
So repair, forget, forgive
Because when you're shattered
You cannot live

Masking pain with a smile
Golden and innocent
Cutting away
Thoughts of magnificent
Come back to the world
Without that man
Rebuild yourself
Try to understand

No more tears
No more angry cries
Say goodbye

It's time to build up
Glue the shards back together
Cups of pain filled up
Realizing reality of never
Never will you care
Never will I matter
Explains why you weren't there
Why you've let me shatter
So repair, forget, forgive
Because when you're shattered
You cannot live

Open your eyes
From the dream
Be alive

Open your eyes
From the dream
Be alive

The author's comments:
This is my first piece being submitted on Teen Ink. I was greatly inspired by the loss of more than one close friend. The point of this piece is you cannot dwell on the losses and expect to truly live and be happy. It's a simple message, but, for me, writing it this way really helped me get the point across to myself.

Think I already attempted to critique this...

Either way, totally deserves front page.
