Candles of our Lives
On the first day I met you
It was in the village square
You brought light back into my life
With your smile and flaxen hair
To all the world I was blind
Until I saw you there
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
We talked and we laughed
We played and we cried
Every moment of our lives
Was spent side by side
I could feel again
The sun and the rain
I could feel the wind and feel the air
And I could see the light again
When I told you of my past, my pain
You said you didn't even care
Just as long as I was your friend
Just as long as I was there
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
But trouble waited round the bend
When I spoke of my love for you
You were frightened, scared and shy
But I should not have wondered why
You had spoke of a love for another
In my foolery his reality I did deny
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
Love is to be patient
Love is to be kind
But you see these things
Never I brought to mind
If only I'd been wise
Can't you hear my cries?
Can't you see how sorry I am?
I f only I could take those words back!
In the dark he came and stole you away
Where have you been all these empty years
But before that day
We spoke heatedly through our tears
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
You must forgive me
I'm begging of thee
It's just that what you said
That I could not bear
A place in your castle
I have no where
On the last day I saw you
It was in the village square
You were made into someone's wife
For him was the smile and flaxen hair
All the light went out of my life
As our eyes met one last time as you stood there
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
It's been years now, I was such a fool
I realize now that I was wrong
To think that your heart I could e'er rule
I will wait however long
It takes, for us to meet again
But I will be in darkness, till then
For the sake of seeing
Your face one more time
Any dragon I would fight
Any mountain I would climb
I didn't mean to be your pain
O! just to hear your voice again
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
The years have gone by, many have passed
We have both grown old apart
You took your final breath your last
But you'll always be in my heart
We can never be together
Bur I will love you forever
The Candles of our lives
Spinning all around
Yet someday the lights will be bound
To go out one by one
But let my last candle say to you:
Forgive me my love
I never meant to be a hurt to you
I hope someday, that I can see your face
My be we're going to the same place
And I hope if I see you again
That you will make me laugh
Like you did once upon a time
And that we can listen to the rain
We'll talk and we'll laugh
Play and we'll cry
Someday, if I see your face again
