To Write Love On Her Arms
Run down and broken,
She can’t trust herself
Finding comfort in every stroke of her blade,
She understands that this is how life is made
She writes love on her arms
And hate on her wrists
She feels so alive
Falling into a painless abyss
Rescue is possible
Love is the movement
Stop the bleeding
To write love on her arms
Countless scares
She falls apart
Until after the blood has seeped,
She cries herself each night to sleep
She writes love on her arms
And hate on her wrists
She feels so alive
Falling into a painless abyss
Rescue is possible
Love is the movement
Stop the bleeding
To write love on her arms
Maybe if you knew why I support this cause so much,
You’d stop making all those cutting jokes…
She writes love on her arms
And hate on her wrists
Forcing the bloodied pain out
After each tear filled kiss
Let’s work together to end the pain
We’ll always remember the scars,
But we can prevent new ones
And heal our hearts
Rescue is possible
Love is the movement
Stop the bleeding
To write love on her arms
