Drifting
Lying awake
Her eyes start to open
And she stares in pain
At the ceiling
It's blank
There's nothing to comfort her
Nothing anymore
No one to hold her
And she knows for sure
That the mountains she climbs every day
Will slowly start to fade
Into the background
Nothing matters now
Everyone seems to grow old
And she begins to see how
It starts out right now
With drifting slowly away
Just another ordinary day
She doesn't talk to anyone
She just drifts on by
And tries to hide the tears she cries
No one sees her pain
The mountains she climbs every day
Have slowly begun to fade
Into the background
Nothing matters now
Everyone has gone home
And right now
She begins to see how
It starts out day by day
With drifting away
