Story of a Lifetime
You're a book that was written for me,
to read all my life,
to guide me down the right path,
so I'll never turn back.
You were written for me,
to show me what I cannot see,
to be the headlights of resistant dreams,
to shine down over everything.
The candle burns slowly as I read every page,
to understand you and your complicated ways.
As the words twist and turn inside my head,
a blurred picture is created instead.
As the light from the candle begins to fade,
I realize that the book is beautiful in every way.
You're a book that was written for me,
to read all my life,
and now I see,
you're everything that a book should be.
