Like Atlas
Books, pens, pencils, and paper crisp and white
The instruments of education
Are more like the instruments of life
I carry the weight of my world, my future on my shoulders
Strapped across my back like so many boulders
Like Atlas, who holds the whole world up
But sometimes I get so fed up
I give up
I give in
But then I look back on what I've done and where I've been
And I know that it's all worth it
Even if I hate it
So this is the cross I must bear and I am fine with it
