God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pain. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.<br /> -C.S. Lewis

[INT]
...Erase my lies

replace my eyes

berate my sighs

embrace my goodbyes

[Verse_1]
I wish I’d known before the fact
before the door was shut/
I wish I’d saw and understood
the feeling in my gut

[Chorus]
Until the very first time
when you kept me in line
I never really cared much about wasting my time
And when you told me to go
guess It just goes to show
I never should have listened, should have stayed with that life

[Verse_2]
I don’t completely give a rat’s
a** about you now/
I don’t really know or care
what you keep screaming about/
I also don’t quite understand
the rate at which you tried/
it seemed like there were times you cared
and others where you lied

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
…Erase my lies

replace my eyes

berate my sighs
embrace my goodbyes

[Chorus_Alt.]
And from the very first time
you kept me in line
I always kinda wished that you’d just say goodbye
and now that you know
I guess it just goes to show
You were always wrong, girl, I was already right

[Chorus]

[OUT]
...Erase my lies

replace my eyes

berate my sighs

embrace my goodbyes...

The author's comments:
It sounds like its about drugs or whatever, but it isn't

The song itself is about a person being carefree, and not having to worry too much, until somebody comes into his life, and makes him change all that.

You decide which is better.

Erase my lies-If there are trust issues, then get rid of them

Replace my eyes-He's not doing things behind your back, but he does have outside interests.

Berate my sighs-It won't always be easy, give us guys some space.

Embrace my goodbyes-Don't follow those rules, then you obviously don't care enough, and should be happy being alone.
