Flowers
Just as a flower begins to bloom
At the beginning of time,
Our friendship started off small and grew,
Beginning its long climb.
In the summer we reached our peak,
Two flowers standing together,
But that's when it began to shrink
And shrivel up forever.
In the fall it was almost dead,
The petals turned dark and gray.
We crumpled to the ground instead
Of standing strong without sway.
By the winter we were practically gone,
Completely turned to ash.
Our days of laughter and joy and fun
Disappeared in a flash.
But still I wish the best for you
Even though I'm no longer you're friend.
Those early days were beautiful and true
And I'm sad that it must end.
But like the wilting flower,
Now covered in the snow,
We've reached our final hour,
And now, it's time to go.
