I See You in the Ocean
I see you in the ocean.
I see your blush in the shallow water fish;
trying so hard to see ashore,
but fleeing once seen by more.
I see your laugh in the waves;
a constant spilling and overturning,
never too calm and always flurrying.
I see you in the ocean.
I see your cries in the sand;
the whole buried at the bottom,
but still turns the taste of the sea.
I see your worries in the tide;
hidden away in the dark,
but those present cannot flee.
I see you in the ocean.
I see your eyes in the sunrise;
the sun turning the surface a glint.
I see your hope in the sandbar;
on top of the world -- away from even eye’s squint.
I see you in the ocean --
and oh,
how I love the sea.
