Cold Love
With misty eyes I punch the keys
Put the phone to my ear and just breathe
I get your voicemail for the third time today
I must be going crazy
All of your pictures are stained with salty tears
My mind is stained with dark thoughts
I'm slowly losing myself without you
My end is near
A hollow shell walks the streets
Laughing and smiling with my family
This is the charade I put on for them
Their child died with you
In your cold stiff chest my heart beats
Your decaying ribs serve as a cage
I know, I know I'm free to fly
But instead I'd rather die
I'm a white umbrella in a parade of black
I'm believing someday you'll come back
I'll dig you up for one last dance
Please just give me a chance
