Dreamers
Just a girl turned 18, ran away to chase her dream,
far away from reality.
Told from birth education comes first
never told her to be herself, tried to speak up,
but they were too busy planning her life out,
step by step down the yellow brick road, to reach a city of gold.
But she took a chance wanted to be bold,
so she forgot everything she was told
thought she'd come crying home,
but people are dying to see her show.
New York Times knows her name
front cover prodigy.
Shes just a dreamer, believer,
reached for the stars and she overachieved them
wow oh hoo x2
Just a boy turned 16, took a chance and left everything
left the place he once called home,
to be blinded by the city bold
they said he’d never make it on his own.
Sofa surfer, barely getting by
playing twenty gigs a night,
self producer, producing on the streets.
Now he’s 23, and he’s making history,
Madison Square Garden is where he might be
playing sold out shows, still can’t believe this is his reality.
He’s just a dreamer, a believer
reached for the stars and he overachieved them
wow oh hoo x2
he’s just a boy, she’s just a girl and they’re touring the world
they took chances, didn’t want boring, now they’re soaring,
they’re just dreamers they’re believers
reached for the stars and they overachieved them.
