Where Have You Gone?
When I woke up I thought of you,
I felt sad as the pain grew.
I go to bed wondering when you'll be back,
and I played your favourite CD track.
Why did you leave?
I will soon start to grieve.
I wonder where you left to,
will you bring me with you?
Please send me a sign,
saying you'll be fine.
I've tried to get your attention,
but now that you mention,
I don't grieve over you,
but maybe if you knew,
that I still care,
but it's not fair.
When I go to school,
I don't think of you,
maybe it's because I grew,
and finally got over you.

What inspired me to write this was the absence of my mother. She was never there for me when I was younger and I often tried to get her attention but she hardly ever replied, so I stopped trying. You can interpret it any way you'd like to, but just know what I actually wrote it about.
