Sad News
The shirt he wore was neon orange,
it fit him not, he was sad, alone,
he’s so unfocused, so damn hopeless,
lost any sort of sense of courage.
He took a beer and smoke in hand,
walked down the path that held his past,
with every drink and every drag,
his heart felt first but was dead last.
Will you forgive me when I’m home,
my heart is low and I don’t know-
if I can push on any further,
I’ve sunk so low, I’ve sunk so low.
Just let me know,
hold out your hand,
I don’t want you to feel-
like you’re better dead.
Black pants, black shirt, black hair so long,
covers one eye, walks head faced ground,
Please listen friend, just listen friend,
just come with me, vent your distress.
Oh how you cried aloud so loud,
and how your lungs began to drown.
I held my hand out for you, man,
Said you couldn’t reach, I know now you can.
I trusted you, I let you go,
my heart sunk low when I saw your face-
on my tv, headline reading:
“Teen Commits Suicide This Evening”
