In My Mind
Life
I can cut out words and make them pretty. I can work an idea in thirty minutes. I can sing until you sleep, and I can hold you while you weep, I’m good at things like that. I can see beyond the work, and picture myself in that world, so much so to say things you never read.
Chorus: I see beyond what lies before me, feel it in my heart. Alone and all, I don’t see much of things outside my world. I like to wear things that make me pretty, and I like talking like I’m ready, like I’m up for somethin’ crazy. But I know I never will. It’s like my life is lived through lenses. I walk through lives I thought were endless, but I look up at the sky, then take a glance inside, and I see that all the living I’ve done, was really in my mind.
Chorus
I sit through the nights waiting for fire to brighten up my soul. Life gets bitter when you wait for things that never come, though. The worst is when you try to so hard and fate gives nothing as reward,
we forget that life doesn’t owe us anything.
We fight the fight we live. Let it manifest within. And we cry when the end comes though I swear I always wish it when I’m down, when I can’t take it.
Chorus x 2

School really gets me down sometimes, and I feel like there's nothing to me, but work.
Sometimes, I would just sit there feeling like there's this whole world I'm not exploring— a whole world of my own potential.
This song was inspired from that.
