Backwards To One
Backwards To One
Three, two, one, go
I already believed it as a child,
And I spread out my wings
I wanted to defeat gravity
I dreamed that I could fly
I'm ready to take that great leap,
And I count backwards to one
I extend them, my wings,
And jump from the highest point in the world
I dreamed that I could fly
And that the wind carried me this time
Three, two, one
I forge myself a flying machine
Which will carry me into the sky
I feel time and how it pushes me,
When the abyss lies at me feet
On the edge of the summit,
I count backwards to one
I extend them, my wings,
And jump from the highest point in the world
I dreamed that I could fly
And that the wind carried me this time
I let myself fall, down into nothingness,
Freed from all that surrounds me
I extend my arms in a great feather-dress,1
And I count backwards, backwards to one
Ten, nine, eight, seven, six,
Five, four, three, two, one
I extend them, my wings,
And jump from the highest point in the world
I dreamed that I could fly
And that the wind carried me this time
I let myself fall, down into nothingness,
Freed from all that surrounds me
I extend my arms in a great feather-dress,
And I count backwards, backwards to one
Three, two, one, out
