Black Lives
Now don't get me wrong not all cops are bad
But the man in New York that was just sad
He had asthma so he could not work he had to quit his job
So when he was out with a slight defense selling cigarettes by a shop
They came by and made him stop
they put him in a chokehold until he stopped
Breathing
“I can't breathe I can't breathe” a few of his last words but they still didn't stop
My man was sitting there lifeless but still on top was one man
He was a white cop
He called up a group of New York's finest but they didn't stop
They just kept going
they hopped on top because my man Eric was 350 pounds
And almost 6’5
they say he was dangerous and he wouldn't stop
So New York’s finest they call the but all I see is some pigs
Laying on top of a man who didn't bleed but I still see their slop
Black lives matter, shout out to the skies
In the streets we cry, for help from all
We live and we die, all together we fight against-
Each other where all we want is to survive
Don't all lives matter? We all know they do
But you all rebuttal with that little question of course they do but we matter to
Yall don't see we hurt and we bleed
Man-on-man offense, no self-defense
Anything looks like a guns in your possession
You may end up in a depression of family members dying
what was the laws discretion
Men and women it doesn't matter
If you’re darker than paper
Then it doesn’t really matter
Black lives matter, shout out to the skies
In the streets we cry, for help from all
We live and we die, all together we fight against-
Each other where all we want is to survive
Don't all lives matter? We all know they do
But you all rebuttal with that little question of course they do but we matter to
Yall don't see we hurt and we bleed
We all run and hide
But with the warrants on their side
These white cops with gun prevail and all we do is sit on the sides
Record on our phone scared
Now you say they all resisted and there's nothing to fear but
With this happening more and more don't you know we’re really scared
This is some scary stuff these days why gun down a few men of different race
When you really should be on the case of all the terrorism going on
Like do you not see
There have already been 3 huge attack many more unseen
By these things we trust the media but they hide so much
Do we really know anything at all
Black lives matter, shout out to the skies
In the streets we cry, for help from all
We live and we die, all together we fight against-
Each other where all we want is to survive
Don't all lives matter? We all know they do
But you all rebuttal with that little question
of course they do but we matter to
Yall don't see we hurt and we bleed
You say there's no closure for this song
But there is still no closure
For the families that can't move on
These cops commit murders
And are set free in a few weeks
The only repercussion they receive
That's involved in theses big discussions
Are moving towns or
States they don't sit in jail
because they’re the jakes
Black lives matter, shout out to the skies
In the streets we cry, for help from all
We live and we die, all together we fight against-
Each other where all we want is to survive
Don't all lives matter? We all know they do
But you all rebuttal with that little question
of course they do but we matter to
Yall don't see we hurt and we bleed
We protest but so do you
How do we make a point if your protest is against us
We shout “Black lives matter” you shout back
But you don't know why we do what we do
If only you knew
We shout saying that we matter to
But you take it as were just better than you
You scream back white lives matter but we already know
We just want to matter too
To cops we don't
And to you we are deadbeats who can't pay their bills.
You don't know what we do to live and survive
But you hate us cuz our skin
And that's no lie
You don't have pity
From city to city it's the same thing

What inspired me to write this piece is the recent problems with police brutality and racial tension in the united states. I'm hoping that people can see a view of a younger individual going through life and how they see whats going on. While we work shopped this most the people in my class didn't understand one of my versus because they were not even aware that it had happened and I would like to spread awarness of what is not view by some of society.
