Butterflies
A butterfly is nothing like a bird.
Birds’ wings are far more broad than her wings spread.
The song she sings is one that's not been heard,
While songs birds sing are bold and loudly said.
A butterfly is nothing like a tree.
Dainty is she but through the sky she soars.
A tree stands tall but can never run free.
Her wings open and out the color pours.
A butterfly is something like the moon.
The moon hides out until it's time to shine.
The butterfly comes out of a cocoon,
And there she stands, a beautiful design.
To her old life she says a brief goodbye,
But now she is a lovely butterfly.
